movin' on up

Way back on my birthday, I kept telling the BF that that day would be a magical day.

He didn't believe me. Well, on that day we decided to bid on a house and ended up negotiating a deal with the sellers. As long as no other major problems arise, we will be moving into this 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house sometime in March.

If you thought me living in the apartment with the BF was a wild ride, just wait until we both move into a house. There is WAY more to clean in 1,600 sq. feet than in our 1,000 sq. foot apartment and more decisions to be made, too. We are talking paint colors, furniture and flooring options and renovating entire rooms.

Now, this could get interesting.....

Forever 21 (at least in my mind)

Who loves a weekend recap? I do!

My friends and I decided to celebrate a few January birthdays on Saturday night. Normally, I make a huge deal out of my birthday for about a whole week if I can get away with it.

Since my birthday week consisted of bidding on a house and a short trip to some of the southern states, I didn't have a chance to claim my birthday like I normally do so I was excited to go out with everyone this weekend.

We all met up at the Willoughby Brewing Company and so did the rest of the surrounding cities. It was freaking packed - who knew EVERYONE wanted to celebrate my birthday!

Yesterday might have been the most perfect Sunday with the exception of the wet weather. A few friends and I went shopping together, but it was a completely leisurely experience and we spent at least 2 hours in Forever 21.

Let's talk about Forever 21. Clearly, I'm not 21 anymore but the clothes are so ridiculously affordable, so it's hard not to at least browse the store for trends. However, I'm pretty confident that the people who are buying the clothes buy for stick thin girls who are no taller than 5'3".

It's almost comical for me to try on skirts. Actually, it is quite comical because my ass pretty much hangs out for all to see. And no amount of leggings will save the outfit either. I'm pretty sure the only thing from Forever 21 that is appropriate for me to purchase are shirts, jewelry and shoes. Any of the tank tops, t-shirts or other dressy shirts fit me pretty well. Jackets are hit or miss because of my linebacker shoulders. But, I love my broad shoulders so I'll keep those over a faux leather jacket any day.

Happy Monday to all!

brownies come and go

Oh my weekend! Don't you hate how fast weekends seem to come and go? In college, it felt like weekends lasted forever, pretty much because they started on Thursday and didn't end until Monday.

So many things were different in college. I could drink much more than I can now, I was immune to hangovers and my I'm pretty sure my waist and ass were about 2 sizes smaller than they are now.

But you know what is better bigger - my bank account now versus then. So much better now.

Because I have a big girl job, I can afford all those things that I wished I could: vacations, purses, sporting event tickets and better shoes.

Yesterday, the BF and I tailgated with our friends after a rough night. (More to come about my kickass Lady Gaga costume from Saturday night's Halloween party.)

The BF and I woke up two hours late and busted our butts to get downtown by 11 a.m. We scored $25 parking (seriously, the parking nazis need to stop inflating their prices by 200%) and I walked down W.6th with homemade brownies in hand.

Obviously, I didn't go to watch them win because they didn't. I like to go to events to have fun with my friends, see some people and drink a few beverages. Once the fourth touchdown was scored, I think we got up at the end of the third quarter and called it a day.

After all, it was a long weekend.

Tasty Sunday

Sunday was a fantastic and low-key day, which was the perfect way to end a whirlwind weekend. The weather was beautiful - not a raindrop in sight.

My girlfriends and I trucked it over Tremont today for the Taste of Tremont. Last night, you would've never thought we would be awake and vibrant enough to go there, but we all made it one piece.

My very good friends, Michelle and Mike, got engaged last night! More on that in my next post, but here she is in all her glory today!

Lia, Michelle, Katie and I headed to Tremont to taste some food and shop around. It wasn't overly packed because we got there around 3 p.m. which was a good time to show up - not too crowded just yet.

I ran into my friend's Alexa and Todd along with a few other people I can't tag because they don't blog.

We ate everything. Let's just see how much it really was.

-Lolita's Mac and cheese and mint lemonade complete with a Michael Symon sighting, meeting and greeting with fans
-Chicken and cheese empanadas from La Tortilla Feliz
-Gyros
-Peanut butter and chocolate ice cream sandwiches and chocolate covered frozen banana from Tremont Scoops

We somehow missed the Taphouse tent. How is that possible!
