Who feels like winning a new pair of jeans!
If you've read this blog for awhile, you will know that I was fashion fairy godmother to my friends last year when I threw a jean party courtesy of Gap and their new line of jeans, Born To Fit.
You can't go anywhere without seeing these jeans. On billboards, on behinds, in last month's Lucky with a sweet new preview of what's to come. Lots. More. Jeans. In. Way. Too. Many. Washes. Than. I. Can't. Afford.
To me, jeans are staple in my wardrobe. Always have been. I need (yes, I do) to have several different styles of jeans. I need the dressy jeans - the ones perfectly molded to my body that I can wear with heels and a fitted t-shirt or dress up with another sexy tank. I have pairs that only go with certain shoes because they are longer or shorter than I'd like them to be. Then I have the skinny pairs too, you know, the trend I swore I could never get my calves into - but, I actually can. I need the perfect boyfriend pair, but I digress.
For no other reason then they knew I needed a new jean jacket, I was sent this last week and have worn it three times already to work (with different outfits of course).
It reminds me of the 80s - who knew acid wash denim could come back and still work?
While I'm not giving away the jacket (you can buy it here on sale!), I am giving away a coupon for a free pair of jeans - men or women can win. I don't want you to do a whole lot of work to win these. Winning should be easy, right?
Contest open to men and women: Tell me which pair of jeans you would buy if you won and where you would wear them. The straight in dark wash for a night out, or the always skinny or cropped in bleached wash to a bar for day drinking with friends. Leave your email address in the comment if I can't find it linked from your blog. Enter as many times as you want and another entry is awarded if you tweet:
"I just entered Allison's contest to win a kick a** pair of #gapborntofit jeans for this summer #giveaways" and link to this post. That's it.
Contest ends Thursday, June 29.
FTC listen up: No monetary compensation was accepted for this post. I was given both the jean jacket and the coupon and giving it away freely in my own contest for my faithful readers.

Whirlwind weekend
Where the hell did the summer go? Not only do I mean the summer months but also the warm weather I desperately missed over our cold winter.
On Friday, the BF and all of our friends celebrated our friend's 30th birthday. Yes, count those years! He's the first one to turn 30 and the BF will follow shortly in early October.
A t-shirt a friend made

We all gathered at Rock Bottom and then made our way down to Howl at the Moon. I have never been in there myself. I'm not sure how all the bachelorette parties I was part of skipped this jewel of a spot, but we made our way down there Friday night. Most of my pictures came out blurry with all the crazy dancing. But one great one came out of my friend who had a little too much fun.
Poor Ian

Saturday night we had our last wedding of the season. Yay! And, it was a blast. Unlike most people, my high school friends and I are still pretty close. It's unusual for some but not for us. We all still geniunely like each other, so we essentially had a little reunion at our friend Jimmy's wedding.

The newlyweds

Because I always find decorations to use as props

On Sunday, we closed the weekend with a rough ride from Vermilion to Sandusky. Let's just say 2 to 4 foot waves, a wine hangover and no sun isn't the best combination for me. By the time we reached Cedar Point, my headache was pounding and we were only slighly soaked - not too bad.
View from the boat dock

We spent the next two hours sitting on the boat, enjoying the short bit of sun and listening to all the rides at Cedar Point.
And, most importantly, let's get to the Gap winner fromy my Born To Fit party. Because I'm tired and the BF won't let me tape him because he's playing Tiger Woods on PS2 now, I'm going to pick the winner out of the bowl.
See, bowl here.

And the winner is Lil Woman! E-mail me your address and I'll get the coupon out to you. Just in time for fall...

if the jeans fit...
Do you want to know what rocks?
Receiving a package you weren't planning on receiving. Just like a surprise card or birthday party - they rock and tends to make the rest of your day.
Today, like any other day, I received an e-mail saying I have a package at the front desk. What I thought would be just some extra large envelope turned out to be a kick ass surprise.
Remember when I wrote about meeting Justine, my fashion fairy god mother, and shopping at Gap?
Well, we met, we shopped, chatted and I had a sweet dress to wear to my friend's wedding two weeks ago. I also was teased with the idea that I could become one of 50 Gap enthusiasts across the U.S. I never thought that I would actually be chosen but I was! So, friends, keep your eyes peeled for an invite- we are going to have a Gap party. We will drink, dance to music and try on a few pairs of jeans.
See? I'm not lying. I really was selected!

When I started this little blog almost two years ago, I didn't know who the hell would read it. Would I be interesting? Would people even comment? Would they return even if I used the F-word one too many times? How do I explain a blog to my parents?
Through this little blog, I've met some fantastic Clevelanders that I otherwise would've never been introduced to. Take Alexa for example - who knew one ticket to Sex & the City would make us instant friends. Or Narm who I make a point to call or stop by his office to kindly tell him to stop hating on girls and our messed up minds. Or I would greeted with a hug at the Greenhouse Tavern when Chef's Widow is the hostess with the mostess for the night.
See.. now don't you want to move to Cleveland? If not for the sweet bloggers, maybe Shaq and LeBron, right?

Eat that, Cinderella
It's true! Fairy godmothers do exist! Her name is Justine and she works for Brand About Town, she's my Fashion Fairy Godmother.
This little old blog was selected to possibly become a Gap enthusiast. Gap is launching a new line of jeans, Born to Fit, early this fall and they are reaching out to bloggers to host parties, receive swag and be selected for special VIP events.
Jeans. How do I love thee? A great pair of jeans can mold to your body and give you curves you never knew you had. Guys will be calling at you and Beyonce won't be the only girl with a booty in town. Or, maybe that's at least what a great pair of jeans does for me.
A few local bloggers who received a shopping spree at Gap:
Cleveland's a Plum
Chef's Widow
Our Little Apartment
Here are pictures of my purchases.
Love this dress. It's flowy and shiny all at the same time. The BF's exact words "I don't know why girls buy those dresses. They make you look fat."

He likes this one more. This is perfect for a day wedding or cocktail party. With a cardigan, I could pull this off at work too.

And then this sleeveless shirt to go with a casual pair of jeans and flats, or even a pair of dress pants for work.
